FIrst, stop all treats,,, None at all.
Only hay and chinchilla pellets. No pellet mixes with fruit or grain mixed in, do this ASAP.
Give only fresh, pure water.
Next, contact your vet. You must have an examine done and possibly a fecal smear done – ASAP.
There are several severe diseases that could be causing this problem, and many could easily kill you pet.
To help slow the diarrhea right now, you could take away the pellets and feed only timothy hay, and burnt toast. Take whole wheat – whole grain bread and toast it to burnt. I am saying Burn It Good! Not just overly brown, but “set off the smoke detectors” burned…. cut this “charcoal toast” into 1″ squares and feed a few every few hours, 24 hours a day. This does NOT replace vet care, but will help some until you can get the results back from the vet. Email me if you have further questions.
