My friend has a baby bird (4 days now like mine). I believe itsa goldian baby. it has a few cuts and she wants to know if it is okay to use Neosporin on it. (the human kind antibacterial killer and pain relief) The baby looks like it’s having trouble with it’s foot. please answers as quickly as you can. thanks. oh and also tell why you can’t use it if you can’t.

If you got cuts on a bird use baking soda so the wound doesn’t bleed. If you don’t have baking soda use cornmeal. The neosporin is only for humans not birds. Yes you can use on dogs/cats but not birds their bodies are to tiny and they can’t handle the stuff. If you could describe the foot thing I might be able to help you out on that one too.

The cream version can be used, sparingly & rubbed in well. The ointment is petroleum based & you shouldn’t use petroleum based products on birds without the direction of a qualified veterinarian.
Good luck…

No Absolutely not, it has antibiotics in it.It can kill the bird. She needs to bring it to the vet to get the right form of medicine.
