PK, you honestly have no idea what you are talking about. Ferrets do NOT “smell terrible.” Please know what you are talking about before you try to trash talk an animal. Don’t answer questions based off of what you have heard. I cannot stand ignorant people. Yes, I get very defensive of my babies..
Ferrets usually cost anywhere from 125 and up. They are not a cheap pet to have. I suggest you do a little bit more research about them before you decide to get one. No pet should ever be a “spur of the moment” decision.

You can buy a ferret at most exotic pet stores (start with pet stores that sell snakes.) The can cost up to $450.00 (but that’s the highest I have ever seen.)
Also, buy a book and do the research. For instance…did you know that ferrets smell terrible? They only way to keep the oder out of your home is to clean it’s box (litter pellets) a couple of times a day. And sometimes that isn’t even enough.
I clipped this from an article. I just want you to have all the FACTS before making your decision.
“Ferrets have an odor all their own, much like any other pet. Some people like the musky scent, while a few can’t stand it, many people fall between the two. If your ferret isn’t yet altered, having this done will cut down on the odor a lot. Keep in mind whole (un-neutered) males, particularly, have a very strong smell. Young kits also have a peculiar, sharp scent which they lose as they get a bit older.
Descenting a ferret doesn’t change the day-to-day smell. Only the scent glands near the tail are removed, which prevents the ferret from releasing bad-smelling musk if it’s frightened or excited, but this doesn’t stop the normal musky oils from glands throughout the skin. “

DO NOT get a ferret. If you knew enough about them, you wouldn’t be on here asking us where to buy one. They are way more expensive then cats and dogs in the long run, and require loads of time and commitment. Colour should be the last thing on your mind. Maybe get rats before you buy a ferret. They’re way easier to care for. Yes they do smell, and if your looking for a healthy ferret, a breeder is the way to go. The whole set up for a ferret is around $800 and you need at least $1000 ready just incase of a vet emergency. Don’t get one until you know your absolutely ready

PLEASE don’t get a ferret! You obviously know nothing about them and have done no research at all!
