We are looking for a companion for our male shitzu mix. He is quiet never barks is house trained and is in need of a friend. We are looking at nearby pounds but we don’t know what kind of dog will be best compatible for him. Any suggestions?

well, alot of small dogs have higher energy levels.
maybe you can go back, look at the small dogs, and pick the one that seems to have a low energy level.

Most small dogs or toy dogs seem to be more hyper. I’ve noticed that bigger dogs seem to be calmer such as, great danes and mastiffs. You can also go to http://www.dogbreedinfo.com and search all dog breeds and read up on their temperament. I hope this helps
