A normal glass fish tank will work fine. You will have to get a screen lid for it.

there are many other brands other than just exo terra.
As long as the tank has a screen lid then a gecko would be perfectly happy in it.
I wouldnt sell the newts just because you want a gecko though, poor little fellas
Lizard tanks are not expensive – check out local petshops, second hand ads/shops or even online; i bet you could find a nice 10 gallon for round about $20

Yes, you can use that tank as long as you sanitize it thoroughly after you find a home for the newts.

yea, its fine, just make sure that its moreso long horizontally wise rather than vertical.

Ya sure but it depends on the gecko. If your getting a gecko with padded feet and is a climber then not the best idea. I suggest a leopard gecko they are great pets and would love that home. Just make sure to clean it out well after you get rid of your newts. “use pet safe cleaner tho”. Lol also its called exo-terra not exco

Goldfish tanks work just as well and are cheaper!
